1. T-shirt
A t-shirt is unarguably the most common shirt men own. Its affordable, comfortable and easy-to-style. There are no limits to the number of outfits you can pull off with a good fitting t-shirt. Chances are you're shopping on a budget so, I suggest you go in for more t-shirts.

2. Polo shirts
I'm a huge fan of polo shirts. Mainly because they're both versatile and casual. If a t-shirt is too casual for whatever the occasion is, wear a polo shirt. Think of it as a combination of a-t shirt and a casual shirt.

3. Casual shirt
There will be times when you have to look your best but not go over-board. If the t-shirt or polo seems too casual for you, a casual shirt should be your go-to. Something with a few decent designs or patterns.

4. Oxford casual button-down shirt
Originating in Scotland during the 19th century, the oxford shirt has been a classic man's essential for so many years. It comes with a button-down collar and a hang loop right beneath the yoke. Pair it with a pair of jeans, chinos or shorts and you're good to go, its a no brainer.

5. Formal shirts
In some departments, its mandatory to wear a formal shirt to class; most preferably a sky blue or white shirt. Other than that you may need them for completing a suit, attending a dinner party and many others. Get a few of them to be on a safe side.
